UPDATE and MASSIVE ART-DUMP
So its August and a lot has been going on.
I've got a job at the Swan and Dolphin resort at Disney World, drawing caricatures of the guests at the hotel. It's a pretty sweet deal, I make minimum wage hourly, plus a 10 or 20 percent commission based on how much I sell in an evening. The only drawback is that I live an hour away an it costs me 100 bucks a week just to get there and back for work.
But it's been working out well so far. Sure beats flipping burgers for my minimum wage. Plus it affords me the opportunity to produce work daily. I basically get paid to sit an doodle in the breaks between guests, which has produced a lot of work.
My personal favorite endeavor has been to develop a new character, Sidney. Sidney is an intelligent ermine-like creature and part of a race from an alternate Earth timeline. He's a scavenger and engineer, building helpful new contraptions out of bits of scrap. He can crawl into places the larger characters can't access to act as a spy or thief. He's armed with a non-lethal shock-prod, powerful enough to incapacitate large creatures. It must be cranked up for each charge.

Alien Avatar 2.0
Now that I know how to make skins for the Second Life avatar meshes, I decided to redo my classic alien avatar (which only existed on the Xstreet market for about a month before the new marketplace opened) I was even able to used the same textures from my sculpted pieces to make the skin, which saved a lot of time.
In retrospect it was pointless to sculpt pieces for a humanoid body, but then again I didn't know how to make skin textures at that point so, *shrugs* whatever.
Anyways, I'll be animating him and submitting him to the SL market place this coming week, to hopefully be released side by side with the Queen of Blades.

Art award retrospective.
I did a Google search for my name to see if my newly uploaded website is up and running.
andrewminniear.com
and found the following on the Western Middle School webpage.
MAEA High School State Art Winners
Kathryn Marshall - 2011 Top 100 in the state
Madison Palmer - 2010 Michigan Youth Arts Festival
Anna Zerull - 2009 Top 100 in the state
Rachel Mathews - 2008 Top 100 in the state
Amanda Trudell - 2007 Michigan Youth Arts Festival
Alyson Sommerfield - 2006 Top 100 in the state
Andrew Minniear - 2004 Top 18 in the state
Amber Fridd - 2003 Michigan Youth Arts Festival
Its surprising how one vaguely creepy pen and ink drawing got me into the top 18 in the state for 2004, in comparison to some of the other very talents students. I've always been encouraged by this; even creepy stuff can compete with more traditional artistic subjects.
I'll have to upload a picture of it sometime soon.

Creature Design- Jungle Basilisk
Jungle basilisk (Female)
The Jungle Basilisk is a large carnivorous bird-like creature whose disheveled green feathers camouflage it among the leaves of it's habitat. They hunt in packs, leaping with agility through the branches of trees or up stony embankments after prey.
Males employ a different hunting technique. Their plumage and brightly colored wattle make it resemble native pitcher plants, the contents of which supply nutrients for many species in the jungle. It waits motionless, sometimes for days at a time, waiting for the opportune moment to spring like a viper and poison it's prey, the effecting paralysis has been described as being slowly turned to stone.
Male to come next.
